Maudie Marie Jones

Maudie Marie "Marty" Jones (86) was born May 18, 1924 in Grandfield, Oklahoma, to Sam T. and Myrtle E. McCurry Hoover. She died in Oklahoma City January 10, 2011. She served in the US Air Force, where she met her future husband, Charles Redman Jones. Later she worked at the US Federal Courthouse in Oklahoma City. She served in the Civil Air Patrol, worked actively with Campfire Girls, and was a docent at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. She was a Toastmaster, and was a member of Northwest Christian Church. She loved travel, birdwatching, and painting, which was her way of being a part of nature. She also loved collecting all sorts of things. Marty was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her son Rebb Sterling Jones. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Krista M. Jones and husband Rev. Craig Stinson of Edmond, and her daughter Pam Hampton of Seaside, California, and by grandchildren Erin-Lee Adamson of Long Beach, California and Kevin Adamson of Dillon, Colorado.
