Michael A. Moran, 75, passed away August 17, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born on October 22, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK to Harry and Reba Moran. At six months old, his family moved to Durant, OK where he lived until he graduated from Durant High School in 1960. Michael attended Oklahoma State University where he pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and graduated with an Accounting Degree in 1964. Michael went on to work at the Oklahoma Tax Commission and the Internal Revenue Service. He also earned a Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University Law School. Michael served 6 years in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. In 1974, he started his own Accounting Practice, Michael A. Moran CPA, which later changed to Moran & Reed CPA. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant until his death. Michael was a passionate sports fan and especially loved cheering on the OSU Cowboys. He also loved to play golf, tennis, and travel. Michael enjoyed spending time with his 5 granddaughters and his friends. He was a volunteer for Whiz Kids and was a member of Henderson Hills Baptist Church. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Reba Moran. He leaves behind his wife Joyce (married for 51 years); daughter Marnie Flegler and her husband John; daughter Melanie Reed and her husband James; brother Pat Moran and his wife Linda; granddaughters Olivia, Lucy, and Maggie Flegler; Jules and Grace Reed; as well as many other family and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 23rd from 5:30-7:00pm and the Memorial Service will be on Friday, August 24th at 2:00pm. Both will be held at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home at 14624 N. May Ave. OKC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson's Foundation of Oklahoma, Whiz Kids Oklahoma, and Henderson Hills Baptist Church.
