Michael Dean Violett passed away March 1, 2021, in Oklahoma City. He was born September 30, 1945, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Kenneth and Edna Violett. He grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Northwest Classen High School. Michael then attended Central State University in Edmond, OK earning two Master's Degrees. He taught art, physical education and in the classroom for many years in both elementary and high school before retiring in Oklahoma.After retiring, he enjoyed buying and selling antiques as well as many hours landscaping his home. His favorite pastime was his family. He was very involved in the life of his daughter and was a great dad. And then, his grandchildren became his pride and joy. Michael had accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and enjoyed attending services at the facilities in which he lived.He is survived by his daughter, Kristin Pfenninger and her husband Brian; two grandchildren, Story and Thea "Teddy"; Kristin's mom with whom he stayed close, Dorothy "Dot"; his sister, Debbie Adams and her husband Russ; and a niece, Ashley Holloman and her husband Matt; and nephew Ryan Adams and his wife Lisa.The family will greet friends at Smith & Kernke on N. May Ave from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 8. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9 at Spring Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
