Michael "Rance" Jackson, 45, passed away from this life June 25, 2012 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by family and close friends that Rance had touched during his memorable life. Rance was born May 8, 1967 in Odessa, TX. After moving to Oklahoma, he attended Putnam City and Watonga schools graduating from Watonga High School in 1985. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University and American Broadcasting School. After school, Rance worked as DJ for a local radio station in Altus, and then later had a successful career in retail that led him to Omaha, NE and Houston, TX. He eventually made his way back to Oklahoma where he continued his career in sales, making friends wherever he was, the latest being Eskridge Lexus of Edmond. Rance was a family man, and enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. They were the light of his life. He was an avid Oklahoma State fan, and could be seen wearing orange and black almost anywhere he went. He loved vintage collectibles, taking vacations to the mountains, driving his Jeep to Lake Hefner and OSU football games. Rance had a good time wherever he was, and brought a smile to everyone that he was around. He truly did live life to the fullest. He is survived by his mother Nancy L. Hall, father Thomas L. Jackson, wife Lori Jackson, daughters McKenzie Jackson and Kelli McCarlson, grandchildren Landon & Madyson McCarlson and uncle & aunt Charles Lyn & Geralyn McBride along with many beloved friends and extended family. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Dr. W.T. & Charline McBride and Mr. & Mrs. Cleo Jackson and a dear cousin, Ronda Dickerson. A celebration of Rance's life will be held Monday, July 2nd at 10am in the chapel of Smith & Kernke Funeral Home. The family would like to extend our gratitude to everyone at the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center and Good Shepherd Hospice for the excellent care that was provided to Rance during this journey.
