Michael Ray Evett

Michael Ray Evett, 63 passed from this life on Wed, October 26, 2011, following a lengthy illness. "Mike" was a beloved member of the Federal Court System, Western District of Oklahoma and was also a former Lieutenant with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office. Mike was born to W.B. and Mary Corene (Sims) Evett on January 5, 1948 in Ada, Oklahoma. Mike graduated from Cushing High School in 1966 and from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1991. Mike married Linda (Don-Carlos) in 1966 and to that union was born April Christian Evett. Mike married Stacy Christian-Helvey on June 7, 1986 and became "Dad" to Cole Regan Helvey. Mike was preceded in death by his Father, W. B., two Grannies, two grandfathers, and his Aunt Polly. Mike is survived by his wife, Stacy of the home, daughter April and husband Casey Walters, grandbabies, Gracie, Danica, and Lilly, Cole and wife Kim and Baby Hadley Helvey (due in January), Mother Corene (of Ada), brother Matt Evett (of VA), brother-in-law, Stan (Diana) Christian, and sister-in-law Stephany (Mark) Stites, Aunt Margaret, Uncles Bud and Bill, cousins Debbie, Steve, Shellie, Traci, Margaret and Maria, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Mike never met a stranger and was a friend to all who knew him. His family, work family and family of friends are heartbroken and he will be missed more than words can say.
