Mildred was born on January 2, 1932 in Bassett, Nebraska, the daughter of George and LaVona McGuire and passed away on December 17th in Oklahoma City. On December 16, 1952 she married William Sylvester and they moved to Oklahoma in 1958. She worked for several years at the Ammunition Depot in McAlester. Mildred also volunteered for 15 years at OU Children's Hospital. She was also a realtor in the Oklahoma City metro area. She liked working crosswords and watching the Oklahoma City Thunder. Mildred cared for her family and loved spending time with them. She was a marvelous cook and thought that anyone that was at the home needed to be fed. She is survived by her husband, William of 61 years; three children, George Sylvester of Noble; Janice Jones (Joel) of Piedmont; David Sylvester (Lori) of Marquette, Neb.; a former daughter-in-law, Fran Sylvester; six grandchildren, Michael Sylvester (Katie), Jason Sylvester, Jessica Leeper (Matt), Keith Jones, Justin Jones and Yasmin; one great-granddaughter, Stella Sylvester. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven Sylvester and a brother, Merlyn McGuire.
