Surrounded by his family, Mick went peacefully to be with the Lord. He was born in Taft, ND to the late Even Evenson and Lilly Evenson. He was preceded in death by his five siblings. Mick grew up on a farm near Cummings, ND and eventually moved to Hillsboro, ND where he graduated from High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Navy and upon his honorable discharge, he moved back to Fargo, ND and graduated from North Dakota State University. It was during this time in school, he met the love of his life and married his wife of 61 years, Jeanette Dean Evenson. He enjoyed a 30 year career with Lystad's Pest Control where he moved up through the ranks to Executive Vice-President and member of the board. It was during his time at Lystad's that he furthered his education in Entomology and Soil Agronomy through Purdue University. Lystad's sold to Economics Laboratory's in 1985 which led to his retirement. He was Past President of the Oklahoma Diabetes Association, Advisory Board member of Commerce Bank and a lifelong member of Quail Creek Country Club. His passions in life were hunting, fishing and family. He was an incredibly supportive parent, awesome grandfather but most of all a loyal and trusted friend. He is survived by his four children, Mary Kay Samis and husband Bobby, Jane Christiansen, Tom Evenson and wife Jennifer, and Ann Tubbs and husband Tommy; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Samis Hanks and husband James, Meagan and Robert Samis, Matt and Dan Christiansen, Andi and Charlie Evenson, Hannah and Katie Tubbs, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Christ The King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. As his wife before him, Mick had a special place in his heart for the Oklahoma Diabetes Association. The family suggests memorials be made to The Oklahoma Diabetes Center, 1000 N.
