Nancy Cooper

Nancy (King) Cooper was born on August 21, 1933, in Wichita, KS to Mary and Edward King. She died peacefully on December 24, 2022, with her husband by her side. Nancy lived her early years between Springfield, MO and Corpus Christi, TX before moving to Oklahoma City. She attended Horace Mann Elementary, Classen High School and Oklahoma City University. Nancy began dating the love of her life, Daniel Edward Cooper, and six months later they were married on August 4, 1956, beginning their journey of deep abiding love and devotion for 66 years. Theirs was a love that was admired and set the standard for all relationships. They spent their lives on adventures of skiing, sailing, flying, traveling and no challenge was ever too great. Together they had children, Chris Cooper (Sharon), Deborah Cooper Jones (John) and Susan Cooper. Dan was devoted to Nancy, caring for her until her death. As the first daughter-in-law of the Cooper family, Nancy, along with her mother-in-law Bue, began many of the family's traditions that carry on today. Nancy was a gracious hostess and the life of the party. She taught her children the beauty of family and the power of love through her actions every day. She was a talented seamstress and shared those talents with many during her life. She worked at Stitch n' Time where she not only managed the store but helped countless brides with their wedding and bridesmaid dresses, costumes for choir groups and teens with prom dresses. She was always the "go to" person in the Cooper family for last minute help with a problem wedding or prom dress. She gave of her talents to the sewing ministry at Christ the King Church. Nancy is preceded in death by her infant children, Theresa and Elizabeth, her parents, brother, Jim King, sister-in-law, Connie King, brother-in-law, David Cooper, and sister-in-law, Shirley Cooper. She is survived by her husband and children, grandchildren, Cody Cooper, Lauren Cooper Pokay (Joe), Ryan Jones, Cory Jones and great-granddaughters, Lyda and Ilya Pokay, cousin, Bill Owen (Carole), sisters-in-law, Diane and Cathey Cooper, brother-in-law, Dick Cooper, and numerous nephews and nieces who loved and admired her.
