Nina Dene Maxwell

Born in Haileyville, OK August 11, 1915 was called home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2012 after suffering a stroke and heart attack. Nina graduated from Saint Anthony Hospital after three years of training to be an RN. After graduating she married and began her life with James Harold Maxwell and spent 32 years together until his death in 1970. She was an avid gardener, cook and painter. She loved animals and birds of all types and loved spending time in nature. A member of Metropolitan Baptist Church for many years she also spent many years studying the bible. She is preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Leta Smith and her husband James Harold Maxwell. She will be remembered by her son Jim Maxwell and wife Janice; granddaughter Kristi Maxwell, grandson Rusty Maxwell and wife Jennifer as well as great grandson Hogan Maxwell. Thanks to all that shared her life and in later years looked after her especially Mike and Paula Porter, Lynn and Jan Collins as well as Clark and Louise Elliott. Visitation with the family will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Smith & Kernke, 1401 NW 23rd Street, Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Fairlawn Cemetery, 2700 N. Shartel Ave., Oklahoma City.
