Lillian "Nino" Walters Pilcher was born March 29, 1926 in Vian, Oklahoma. She lived a full life and was loved by all who knew her. She left us on July 13, 2013. Nino is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Dan; two daughters, Michele Fruits and husband Terry, Edmond OK and Kelly Peterson and husband Kirk, Crystal Lake, Illinois, and one son, Dan Pilcher and wife Emily, Oklahoma City. Mama Nino has seven grandchildren; Paige and Alex Fruits, Katie, Kristin and Kalvin Peterson and Grace and Sophie Pilcher; a brother Paul Walters and wife Tena. Her parents Zeff and Mayme Walters and a brother J. T. Walters and wife Chloe preceded her in death. Nino was a member of Kappa Delta, was selected as the Greater Oklahoma City Kappa Delta Alumnae Association's Woman of the Year in 1999. Because of her endless volunteer work on behalf of her alumnae association, the Lillian "Nino" Pilcher award was established for alumnae members who show dedication above and beyond all other members. Nino was president of Oklahoma City Petroleum Landmen's Wives Association and a member for 35 years. She served on the board of the Ronald McDonald House and was a master duplicate bridge player. Nino was a "Talk of the Town" tour guide and decorated many beautiful Christmas trees, tables and friends' homes. She was involved in every one of her children's clubs and activities throughout their lives. She was well known for creating her beautiful Faberge-style eggs and teaching others. As a young woman, Nino sang professionally and taught tap, ballet and art classes. She toured the country with the famous singing choir, Fred Waring and his Swinging Pennsylvanians. Later she and three girlfriends toured around Oklahoma as a dance group. The family would like to thank Sooner Home Health, caregivers Gabriella and Gigi Escalante, Crossroads Hospice, Dr. Michael Winzenread and staff and faithful friend Yvonne Istre for their loving care and of our mother. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, at Smith and Kernke Chapel.
