Norbert J. Rother passed away September 24, 2011. Norb was born on January 14, 1936 in Okarche, OK and graduated from Okarche High School before moving to Watonga to begin work as a farmer and rancher. He later left farming and began work in the oil field where he spent the rest of his career. He cofounded Testco and Kingfisher Resources and remained actively involved in daily operations until his death. Norb was preceded in death by his mother and father, Henry and Betty Rother, his brother Robert Rother and his sister Mary Ivey. He is survived by his wife Patty Rother of Oklahoma City OK, brothers Jack Rother and wife Lou of Watonga OK and Charles Rother of Okarche OK; and his sisters Jane Rother of Grove OK, Carol Castonguay and husband Max of Kingfisher OK, and Martha Ringwald of Okarche OK. He is also survived by his sons Bryan Rother and wife Jan of Yukon OK, Jeff Rother and wife Leah of Ardmore OK, Russell Rother of Oklahoma City OK, and Steven Rother and wife Cindy of Watonga OK; his daughters Juli Perkins and husband Dion of Woodward OK, and Susan Bond and husband Jim of Norman OK, children of Mary Kay Rother; his stepdaughter Sondra Deimund and husband Mike of Weatherford OK; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and his Testco family. Norb greatly appreciated his family and friends, enjoyed traveling and gardening, and he was very passionate about his work. He approached all situations in life with a positive attitude and always looked for the good in people. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of Watonga, OK. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to his favorite charities, Food for the Poor (www.foodforthepoor.org) and Catholic Charities of Oklahoma (www.catholiccharitiesok.org). A wake will be held on September 26 at Smith & Kernke at 7:00 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will take place September 27 at the Holy Trinity Church in Okarche OK at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service in the IOOF Cemetery in Watonga OK at 12:30 p.m.
