Ophelia C. Arledge

Ophelia Clara Arledge, age 101, resident of Tuscany Village Nursing Center, Oklahoma City, OK, passed into Jesus' arms on October 22, 2014. Ophelia and Howard were married 56 years before his passing in 1992. She was born August 6, 1913 at West Wichita, KS to Michael N. and Elizabeth A. (Reding) Voegeli. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the family present from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home. An Evening Prayer Service and Rosary will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at St. Eugene's Catholic Church, 2400 Hefner Road, Oklahoma City with Rev. Joe Arledge, Rev. Donald J. Wolf and Deacon Vincent Mrasek officiating. She will be laid to rest next to Howard at Resurrection Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Ophelia is survived by daughters Joan "Jo" Askew and husband Dennis, Juanita Rother, and Judi Mrasek and husband Vincent, sons Jerry and wife Tess, Bede (Joe) and wife Noreen, Jim and wife Mary Ann, John and wife Sandy and Jean and wife Cheryl; sister, Theresa Huot, and sister-in-law, Mary Voegeli; 29 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews also survive. Ophelia was preceded in death by her husband Howard; son-in-law Greg Rother; two brothers, Raymond and Leonard and wife Agnes Voegeli; sisters Loretta Novotny and husband Stanley, Marcella Dobry and husband Leon, Florence Wallace and husband Bill, Genevieve Stotler and husband Paul. Ophelia's family expresses heartfelt thanks to the staff of Tuscany Village Nursing Center and Sooner Hospice for their dedication and loving care.
