Owana Jane Bateman

Owana has gone on eagle's wings to Jesus. She was born in Marlow, OK to Ode Percival Short and Ollie Rene (Chaffin) Short. She is the last of her nuclear family. She is survived by her children, daughter, Joanna Gardner, and son, Grady Bateman, who were blessed beyond words with a life that included the love of a father, Carl Grayden Bateman, Sr., and this precious angel, Owana. After becoming friends with Bill W. their lives began a joyous journey of serving God by "passing it on". They will continue to live through their children; grandchildren, Brian Bateman, Julie James and Emily Elkin; great-grandchildren and countless friends. The Chickasaws have lost another prize winning artist and teacher. The family wishes to thank the loving caregivers who became part of the family. A celebration of life service will be held 2pm, 9/27/14 at Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
