Patricia Ann Slattery

Patricia (Pat) Ann Slattery, 74, died November 19, 2018 in Hospice Care in Oklahoma City from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Pat had a long 6 year battle with the disease. She entered a Memory Care facility in August where she lived until her death. She is survived by her beloved daughter Denise Slattery as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Giles Slattery in 2011, her son William (Billy) Slattery in 1998 and her only sibling, William Konyu in 1969, who is still listed as MIA in Vietnam. Born Patricia Konyu to parents John Konyu and Anna Bendus in Easton, Pennsylvania, Nov. 24, 1943, she graduated from Phillipsburg High School and went on to receive her associates degree from Churchman Business College in Easton, PA in 1963. Pat married Giles on Dec 24, 1971 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. She worked as a secretary for many years for many different companies but her most treasured job was that of mom. Pat moved to her daughter's home in Oklahoma City in 1998 after her son's death, but she was always a Jersey Girl at heart. Pat and Denise had the opportunity to take the trip of a lifetime to Slovakia in 2015 where Pat's maternal ancestors are from. Pat was a longtime member of The Catholic Church of the Epiphany of the Lord and Saint Eugene Catholic Church both in Oklahoma City. Viewing will begin at 6pm Monday, November 26, 2018, followed by an Evening Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Tuesday, November 27, 2018. Both liturgies will be at St. Eugene Church, 2400 W. Hefner Rd, The Village, OK 73120. She will be buried in Michigan. Pat's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Frontier Hospice and Memory Care at The Fountains at Canterbury for the compassionate care she received. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Pat's name to the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
