Patricia Rose Mangan, 76, passed away at home on February 19, 2024. She was born September 7, 1947, and was married to her husband Terry Mangan for 50 years. Pat was preceded in death by her son David and survived by husband Terry, sons Brian and Luke, and granddaughters Olivia and Grace.
Born and raised in the Chicago-area, the 4th of 11 children, Pat had a wide circle of friends and family. Her life was spent devoted to making the people she loved happier. Pat was the person people depended on in times of crisis, times of joy, special occasions, or difficult days. Everyone she loved turned to Pat for strength, advice, help, kindness, and humor. Her sense of humor and (sometimes stubborn) sense of right and wrong are the stuff of legend and will never be forgotten.
Pat was also a passionate football fan, supporting the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Chicago Bears. Interrupting her during a Notre Dame game was a sure way to receive a sternly worded rebuke. When she was not helping the people in her life, she was competing with them in board games, card games, word games, anything that could be both fun and competitive.
Always wanting to be a reason people were happy and not a reason people were sad; Pat preferred that there not be any formal service in her honor. She asked that everyone she knew celebrate her life by doing something fun with people they enjoy, whatever or wherever that may be.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to March of Dimes, Planned Parenthood, or any organization that works to improve the lives of women and children.
