Patricia (Pat) Bruner-Mccleery

Patricia (Pat) Ann Ling Bruner-McCleery a very independent, creative and artistic person was born on September 9, 1940 in Asheville, NC to Clarence Clyde Ling and Mary Lyndall (Shutt) Ling. As a young child her family moved to Oklahoma City and Pat lived here the rest of her life. She once came close to moving to her favorite place, Cannon Beach Oregon, but it wasn't to be so she visited as often as possible the past few years with her daughter, Terri. Pat was a creative and artistic entrepreneur who rarely sat still! She was known to change all of the paint colors in the house while her kids were at school! She was very social and loved her work as an Aesthetician for over 25 years. Her work was her passion. She loved taking care of people's skin; but she loved the interaction with her clients even more. Pat was a social butterfly and loved visiting with people. It didn't matter if she knew you or not, she was gonna let you know her thoughts. In her periodic down time, she loved to paint. She has been painting for over thirty years and was very creative. In the beginning, she made Christmas sweatshirts that everyone had to have. When she tired of the sweatshirts, she began painting Indians and would also do portraits of people's dogs. She continued to paint throughout her life. Around the same period, she got into clowning. She clowned with the Just Say Ho organization which went to retirement homes and worked with the make-a-wish foundation. She loved to make people smile and make their day. She was the matriarch of the family and was loved by all and she loved them all. She was the original sarcastic soul of the family and it's obviously a heritable trait. She had a great sense of humor that could fit in any environment and would always get in a laugh. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Frank LeRoy Bruner and Dale McCleery. Pat is survived by daughters, Terri Preston her husband Chris, Julie Dodson-Downs her husband Marc; son, Frank Bruner his fiancé Tera Parks; grandchildren, Corey Preston his wife Lydia, Chris Preston his wife Brittnee, Courtney Ratliff her husband Jon-Luke, Ashlee Hamric her husband Westin, Micah Dodson, Jacob Dodson, Madison Bruner, Nathan Bruner; and seven great grandchildren.
