Patsey Ruth (Davis) Spaeth passed away on Oct. 27, 2012 with her family and friends at her side. She was born March 26, 1925, in OKC to James Dee Davis and Ruth Lily (Jones) Davis. She grew up in OKC attending Horace Mann Elementary, Harding Junior High, and Classen High School, graduating in 1943. Patsey was deemed "the most beautiful girl in OKC" in her time and was often likened to Elizabeth Taylor. She met the love of her life, James Norman Spaeth of Kansas City, MO, and of Spaeth Inc., of OKC. They loved dancing, traveling, bowling, entertaining friends, playing card games, cooking and feeding others, and laughing at life's ups and downs! They were married Feb. 8, 1944, in Los Angeles while Jim was stationed in San Diego serving in the Navy during WWII. They were separated as Jim continued to serve our country stationed on the Ebeye Island of Kwajalein Atoll in Marshall Islands. The couple reunited after the war in Kansas City where they lived for a few years before returning to OKC. They raised 5 children, all of whom attended St. Patrick Catholic School and Northwest Classen High School. Patsey also loved shopping, surrounding herself and her friends with art, crafts and things of beauty! She loved getting out and doing things, no matter what it was! She was a volunteer for 30 years with Deaconess Hospital Auxiliary, as well as with the Junior Hospitality Club. She was an active Bellmon Bell in Henry Bellmon's campaign for Governor. Patsey was involved over the years in various organizations, giving of her time to various causes. Patsey is survived by her husband of over 68 years, James; 5 children, Donna Sheesley and husband Terry of Yukon, Anita Goodale of Yukon, Mark Spaeth and wife Vicki of Houston, Gary Spaeth of Edmond and Debbie Spaeth of Edmond; brother, Jim Davis and wife Elda of OKC; 5 grandchildren, Shelly Richardson and husband Keith of OKC, Grant Goodale of Yukon; Michelle Spaeth and Libby Spaeth of Houston, and Riley Spaeth of Edmond; 5 great-grandchildren, Shawn and Ryan Richardson, Bryanna, Annalia, and Christopher Richardson; nieces and nephews, Steve, Paul, Jamie, Jill and David and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill Davis; granddaughter, Renee Richardson, grandson, Randy Richardson; and son-in-law, Toby Goodale. Evening prayer service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. Both liturgies will be at St. Monica Catholic Church, 2001 N. Western, Edmond.
