Pauline Deen, age 98, passed from this life on June 19, 2021 and woke up in heaven no longer in pain and surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Rice County, Kansas to Jess and Ruth (Buckbee) Fuson on March 24, 1923. She grew up in central Kansas and attended Lyons and Claflin Schools. She married Edward Cruth on April 12, 1946. They were married until his death on December 29, 1990. In 1994, she married Howard Deen, who died in 2004. She always loved to stay busy with crafts, sewing, reading, making quilts, needlepoint, oil paintings, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, camping, bowling, exercising, golf and spending time with family and friends. It was so very hard on her in later years when she was unable to do these things she loved. Pauline was also a long time member of Crossing Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Ruth Fuson; husbands, Edward and Howard; brother, Everett Fuson; infant granddaughter, Patricia; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Pauline is survived by daughters, Connie Veley and Judie Schwerdtfeger-Wade, son-in-law, Mike Wade; granddaughters, Traca Haslam and husband, Craig and Melissa Corman; and one grandson, Chris Schwerdtfeger. She was great-grandma to Ben, Alex, Clara, Luke, Eve and Porter. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to Dr. Karen Ross, for years of concern and care; and to Mary, Janet and Lisa with Traditions Hospice for their love and support before her death. Graveside services to honor Pauline will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
