Peggy Jane Nevez

Peggy Jane Nevez, the ultimate matriarch, was called to the Kingdom of Heaven while surrounded by family on Thursday, August 27, 2020 in Edmond, Oklahoma. Peggy was born December 21, 1936 in Burdette, Arkansas. She married the greatest partner, travel companion, and best friend, Rudolph Nevez, at St. Eugene's Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. Peggy loved travelling the globe with her loving husband. Mimi set a great template for the younger generations on how to live a life full of love. She was never short of "I love yous" or hugs- all while making sure that every glass was on a coaster. It did take Mimi awhile to come around to dogs, but once she discovered her love of Shih Tzus, canines became a staple in the car and on the lap. Gracie, Sassy, and Mica all got to experience the unwavering love that Mimi was known for. In her home, many stories and laughs were shared about climbing hills in foreign countries in search of the best meals, strolling the streets of Manhattan, and daring to try local cuisines in remote countries.Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Laura Ruth Barnett and Robert Bruce Barnett; her sister Linda Jo Bates; daughter Janie Lynn CooperPeggy is survived by her husband, Rudy Nevez; her sisters Brenda DeVore and Betty Petty; her children Lisa McKay (David), Jeff Nevez (Brent Potter), Trent Nevez (Kenna), and Scott Nevez; her grandchildren Aimee Cooper, Rebecca Risinger (John), Kyle Cooper, Lauren Matthews (Greg), Taylor Nevez, Alex Dalke (Elizabeth) Paige Nevez, Karly Nevez, and Kathryn Dalke; great grandchildren Kadence Risinger, Garrett Risinger, Emma Nevez, and Charlie Matthews. Services will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City on August 31, 2020 at 10:00am. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mercy Hospice for their concern and loving care of Peggy.
