Phillip G. Doerner was born in Oklahoma City, OK October 19, 1934 and died October 14, 2011 in Oklahoma City, OK. He attended Capitol Hill High School, graduating High School and Junior College from Oklahoma Military Academy, Claremore, OK. After graduating from OSU with a degree in Geology he went to work for Schlumberger Well Services as an engineer. On June 2, 1956 he and Carole Pameticky were married in Ponca City, OK. They had three children, Phillip, Jr., John and Cecelia. He retired from Schlumberger in 1985 after living in many locations. After retirement they moved to their home on Lake Eufaula where he pursued his hobbies of fishing and hunting and also had the time for traveling. A new passion also entered his life - grandchildren. He was very interested in all their activities and traveled to as many as possible - both academic and sports. As they grew he called them 'grandpeople'. In 2002 they moved to Edmond, OK. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother John and Kathleen Doerner, mother and step-father Viva and R.O. Wall, grandson Matthew Doerner, and brothers James Wall and Bill Lynn. He is survived by his wife Carole of the home, sons Phillip Doerner, Jr and wife Marsha of Oklahoma City, OK, John and wife Cristy of The Woodlands, TX, daughter Cecelia Sellers and husband Steve of McDonough, GA, grandsons Phillip, III and Michael of Oklahoma City, OK, Ryan of College Station, TX, Trent of The Woodlands, TX, granddaughters Megan Dickey and husband Jonathon of Valdosta, GA, and Sarah Sellers of McDonough, GA, sister Bonnie Lynn of Borrego Springs, CA, brother-in-law and wife Terry and Connie Pameticky of Ponca City, OK, many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank Quail Creek Nursing Home Staff for the care of their loved one. Services will be Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Smith & Kernke Chapel, 14624 N. May. Oklahoma City, OK with The Rev. Shelby Scott officiating. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and visitation with the family from 1:00 to 2:00 on Saturday. Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
