R. Scott Wilson

R. Scott Wilson, an Oklahoma City businessman, LGBTQ and nightclub pioneer who touched the lives of many, passed away on May 5, 2024, in Oklahoma City. He was born on November 14, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan to David H. and Julia Margarite Wilson.

After graduating from Casady School in 1971, Scott proudly attended Vanderbilt University. His time at Vanderbilt was marked by academic excellence and leadership as he served as pledge class president of Beta Theta Pi and graduated in 1975 with a triple major in economics, finance, and history.

After graduation, Scott and his father established, David H. Wilson & Son Insurance Agency. In 1983, Scott simultaneously opened three businesses: a Convenience Store, a Liquor Store and Oklahoma City’s finest discotheque Angles. His dedication to the LGBTQ community and hard work left a lasting impact that will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Scott will be remembered for his generosity towards others and his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Mother Julia Wilson; Father David H. Wilson, Sr.; and Brother David H. Wilson, Jr.  Scott leaves behind precious memories with his partner and spouse of thirty-one years, Bradley Simons; nephews Michael H. Wilson and Carson Brady; nieces Margaret "Peg" Link and Josie Brady; in-laws Barbara and Roger Simons; sister and brother-in-law Angie and Jason Ridenour.

May he rest in peace knowing that he made an impact on his community and all those who had the privilege of crossing paths with him during his remarkable journey through life.
