Ralph Weston 'Wes' Sigmon

Ralph Weston Sigmon departed this life on Sunday, the 17th of February. Wes was born in Anadarko, OK on April 22, 1923 to Ralph and Abigail Sigmon. The family moved to Oklahoma City where Wes was raised. While attending Central High School, Wes met the love of his life, Barbara Marie Young. They were married on November 25, 1942 and shared 68 years together. Wes and Barbara raised their family and worked in Oklahoma City for 40 years. Wes enjoyed a long and successful career as both an auctioneer and automobile dealer. In retirement, they enjoyed traveling the world visiting over 30 countries. In 1983, Barbara and Wes moved to the warm climate of Harlingen, Texas where they resided 28 years. Their home in the Valley was always filled with bridge groups, dinner parties, golfing buddies and family. In 2005, they returned to Oklahoma City to be near family. Wes met many new friends at the Town Village Retirement Center where he was President of the resident's association. During his last years, Wes enjoyed his favorite past time of oil painting. Wes is preceded in death by his siblings, Bill Sigmon, Jack Sigmon and Anne Spitzer; his granddaughter Brittany Jane Wood; his son and favorite golfing buddy, Dr. Patrick Sigmon and his beloved wife Barbara. Wes will be missed by his daughter, Barbara Crandall and her husband David; his son, Michael Sigmon and his wife Jane; his daughter in law, Susan Sigmon; grandsons, Scott Sigmon, John Sigmon and wife Monique, Stephen Sigmon and wife Vanessa, Dr. Jason Sigmon and Marni Sigmon and Dr. Clay Sigmon and wife Jessica; his 6 precious great grandchildren; Jack, Grace, Lilly, Mary Kate, Alice and Noah; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 9am-5pm at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21, 2013. A Graveside Service will be held at 11am on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
