Mona Presley passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was born Sept. 30, 1938 in Prague, OK, one of eight children of C.B. and Murtie Bell King. She grew up in Seminole, OK, where she graduated high school. At the young age of 17, she married Gene Presley and she passed away 56 years later on their wedding anniversary. She served as secretary to members of the House of Representatives at the Oklahoma State Capital for many years before joining her husband in founding LPM of Oklahoma, a forklift and material handling company. She was an excellent business woman and took care of the finances and accounting of the business until they sold the company in 2000. She was an avid tennis player and fan and she and her husband were early members of Oak Tree Country Club. She loved traveling, snow and water skiing, and reading. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gene; daughter, Nikki Presley Miliband and husband Joel of Corona del Mar, California; son, Tony Presley and wife Roxie of Edmond; granddaughter, Morgan Presley; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings, Ottis King, Cordillia Chapman, Margaret Speith, Wayne King, Lee King, Dorisa Bratton and Gary King. The family would like to acknowledge her caregiver, Myrtle Tetteh as well as all the staff at Epworth Villa. A celebration of Mona's life will be held Wednesday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at Smith & Kernke Chapel. Contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association or National Kidney Foundation.
