Raphael Shackelford

(Rafe) Raphael Edmond Shackelford, 91. Died on March 22, 2017. He was born June 12, 1925 in Valliant, OK to John Clifton and Lela Mae Shackelford. He was preceded in death by his parents, his six siblings, his infant daughter and his youngest son, Dale Lee Shackelford. Rafe is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Jane, his daughter Karen and her husband Charles Meade, his son Dennis, two grandchildren Bryna and Mackenzie Tayler Shackelford, and many nieces and nephews. Rafe served in the Navy during WWII and was in Tokyo Bay during the surrender of the Japanese. He was in the printing business both before the war while in high school and after at Times Journal Publishing Company until his retirement in 1990. His many interests included his family, church, golf, fishing, and volunteering.
