Rebecca Jane "Becky" Sowell

Rebecca Jane "Becky" (Oltmanns) Sowell August 28, 1957 - September 18, 2017 Becky peacefully passed away on September 18, 2017 after a brave and brief battle with cancer. Becky was born in Oklahoma City to Jim and Eileen Oltmanns. She grew up in Crescent, OK and graduated from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK. She married Gary Sowell on April 29, 1989 and lived happily in Oklahoma City. Becky was dedicated to her career with Kimberly Clark until retirement after 32 years. Becky is survived by her husband Gary, mother Eileen (Maher) Oltmanns, sister Ann and Wayne Fields, sister Nancy and Tony Dodson, sister Gretchen Smith, and sister-in-law Paula (Sowell) Gabehart. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved and adored. She is preceded in death by her father Jim Oltmanns, and brother Chris Oltmanns. The family would like to thank her oncologist, Dr. Hapani and his marvelous staff, and the nurses on the 2nd and 4th floor at Mercy Hospital for their care and compassion. Prayer service and rosary will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday, September 21st at Smith & Kernke N. May. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 22nd at St. Eugene's Catholic Church, 2400 W. Hefner, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. In lieu of flowers, donation in Becky's name may be made to St. Eugene's Catholic Church.
