Reverend Donald Claude Moore

Reverend Donald C. Moore, a Roman Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City died on October 7, 2009 in Oklahoma City. Father Moore was born October 29, 1937 in Enid, Oklahoma and graduated from Watonga High School. He attended Oklahoma A & M (OSU) and St. John's Seminary, Little Rock Arkansas. Father Moore was ordained on May 23, 1965 at St. Gregory's Abbey Church, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Father Moore served many parishes in the Diocese of Oklahoma and Tulsa and the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City during his thirty years of active ministry as well as serving as the chaplain for area hospitals and Saint Ann Nursing Home where he was much beloved. Assignments included Associate Pastor, Saint Francis Xavier Church, Enid; Church of Saint Mary, Ponca City; Saint Francis Xavier Parish, Tulsa and Pastor, Sacred Heart Church, Mangum; Prince of Peace Church, Altus, Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Okeene and Saint Mary Church, Clinton and Saint Patrick Church OKC. Father Moore is preceded in death by his father Roland Moore and his mother Cyrilla Moore Reber. He is survived by this sister Carole Ann Moore Dunn and his nieces Ronda Dunn Bizzell and Cathy Dunn Ray, nephew Donnie Dunn and grandnieces and grandnephews Kolby Bizzell, Kirby Bizzell Hood, Christopher Dunn, Brittany Dunn, Taylor Ray and Ty Ray. Visitation will be Sunday, October 11, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Smith and Kernke, 1401 NW 23rd OKC.
