Richard was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Lewis Hurley and Mary Marguerite (Slavin) Hughes. He passed away in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Classen High School in 1944, then proudly served our country in WWII in the U.S. Navy. He later earned his degree in Business from Oklahoma City University. Richard owned a propane business in Oklahoma City. He is survived by two children, son, Mitchell Hughes and daughter, Alison Alfonso and her husband Anthony; two grandchildren, Matthew Robertson and Tiffany (Hughes) Rager and husband Zach; three nieces, Heidi, Jill and Ashley and their families. Services to celebrate Richard will be Friday, July 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Smith & Kernke N. May chapel with a reception to follow.
