Richard Beadles, age 84, of Oklahoma City, passed away October 18, 2013. He was born on April 14, 1929 in Freedom, OK. Most of his childhood was spent in Alva, OK. He graduated from Billings, OK High school and attended Oklahoma Baptist University. He was an ordained Baptist minister, serving in several rural churches while a student at OBU. He was employed as a superintendent for Crest Construction Company until his retirement. Richard also proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, receiving an Honorable Discharge. Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Daryl Davenport Beadles; one son, Tom Beadles of San Antonio, TX and Oklahoma City, and daughter-in-law, Mary Beadles; granddaughter, Theresa Orsborn and husband, Rob of Houston, TX; grandson, Matthew Beadles of San Antonio, TX; great grandchildren, Mary Gate and Oliver Orsborn. He is also survived by brothers Jack of Claremore and wife, Ann; Tony of New Mexico and wife, Christie; Harold of Australia and wife, Margaret; and Donald of Alva, OK, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ellen Beadles and brothers, William, Joe, and Kenneth. Richard was a loving and generous man who would give "the shirt off his back" to friends and family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to all who knew him. He never asked much of others except to be allowed to live his life his own way.
Services will be held Friday, October 25th, 3pm at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
