Rick Wayne Calhoun, 69, of Oklahoma City went to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by family on March 12, 2017 due to complications from autoimmune liver disorder. He was born to Gerald D. Calhoun and Jimmie L. (Lewis) Jones in Tampa, FL on June 14, 1947. Survived by his mother Jimmie Jones, son Shannon Calhoun and his wife Lacey, and grandchildren Chris Calhoun and Payton Calhoun. His father preceded him in death. Rick was passionate about motorcycles/sportbike racing, spending many weekends at Hallett Raceway on motorcycle lap day with his friends. He also had incredible marksmanship, achieving successful completion of numerous courses developing his technical shooting skills. He enjoyed painting pieces of art and numerous other activities. Rick lived his life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same – "If you are not risking your life then you're not living". Rick graduated from Putnam City High School, served his country in the army in Vietnam, attended Rose State College, and graduated with a degree in art from the University of Central Oklahoma. He worked at Tinker Air Force base as a visual/graphic illustrator 38 years before retiring. A memorial service will be at Smith & Kernke May Ave Chapel at 10 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2017.
