Rita Shawareb

Rita Shawareb was born Jan. 1, 1966, in Jordan, the daughter of Nayef and Antoinette Haddad. She lived in California where she graduated high school before coming to Oklahoma. Rita was a very devout and faithful Christian who cared for her family, especially her in-laws. She loved life and people. She was a member of St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church. Rita fought a good fight against brain cancer and passed away on June 14. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Rafat; two sons, Jamil and Shadi; siblings, Nabil, Nadia, Dina, Ghada, and Nouha Haddad. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Jamil and Hind Shawareb. The family would like to express their gratitude to Frontier Hospice and the doctors and nurses for the care given to Rita. The funeral service will be Monday, June 18, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 15000 N. May Ave. Contributions may be made in Rita's memory to the Flowers That Do Not Wither fund in care of the Church.
