Robert was born in Wichita Falls, Texas the son of Robert and Barbara Peeler and passed away at his home in Choctaw. He was a graduate of Okmulgee High School in 1972. He attended the University of Oklahoma and majored in Radio and TV Journalism. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, Sigma Delta Chi Society of Professional Journalist; Radio-TV News Director Association and was listed on the Dean's Honor Roll. He began his career at Oklahoma Farm Bureau on August 15, 1977 as a radio newscaster. In November of 1987, he was promoted to Director of Information and in July 1996 became the Director of Administrative Services. He was later promoted to his final position as Vice President of Operations. In 1981, Robert became a Deputy with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Reserve Division. He took pride in being among the first class of recruits in the program. Through the years he devoted countless hours of service to his community and made lifelong friendships along the way. In his free time he enjoyed working in the yard, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Robert will be deeply missed by his family, friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Vada Peeler and Elmer and Ethel Woody. He is survived by his parents; Robert (Bob) and Barbara Peeler of Okmulgee; his wife, Kim Peeler; two sons, Austen Peeler and Mason Peeler and his fiancée Lorin Hite all of Oklahoma City; one grandson, Landen Peeler; one brother, Rick and Cyndi Peeler of Broken Arrow; and two nephews Cody Peeler of Broken Arrow and Cory Peeler of Dallas, TX. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Smith & Kernke Chapel with burial to follow in Okmulgee, Okla.
