Robert H. Koger was born in Oklahoma City in 1932 and died on May 9, 2018.
He was preceded by his mother Caroline Hall Burkhart Koger of Oklahoma City, his father John Clifford Burkhart, his father Ray Allen Koger, and four sisters: Helen Burkhart Deardorf of Denver, Eleanora Burkhart Walton of Los Angeles, Margaret Burkhart Reeves of Denver, and Patricia Burkhart Koger Farrow of Oklahoma City.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Koger, his daughter Lauri Smithee and husband Derek, his daughter Cheri Moody and his grandson Quinn, his sister Barbara Burkhart Bryant of Dallas, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives.
He graduated from Classen High School in 1950. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Engineering and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War, was assigned to Patrol Squadron Eleven as a radio operator. He worked as an Aeronautical Engineer at Tinker Air Force Base for 36 years.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in his youth. Bob was long-time member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir, coaching boys' baseball, and assisting with his daughters' softball team and Girl Scout Troop.
Bob enjoyed camping, spending time with family and friends, playing dominoes and cribbage, and Dr. Pepper.
A Prayer Service (with visitation proceeding) will be held at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home at 6pm on Tues, May 15. A Funeral Mass & reception will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10am on Wed, May 16.
