Much-loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, who lived a full life, died April 3, 2018. He was born in Oklahoma City on March 11, 1949 to Bob and Betty Jean Muller. Robert went to Catholic schools through ninth grade, and then transferred to Harding High School. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma and St. Gregory's University. His first marriage blessed him with two daughters, Amy and Ashley. In 1974, Robert married Janet Greenamyer. His family was complete when they welcomed two wonderful sons, Patrick and Paul. As his children and their families grew, he embraced the role of grandfather, particularly enjoying their gatherings around his pool.
Robert was a golf enthusiast, playing every opportunity he could seize. He cherished both the time spent and friendships made on the golf course. He also enjoyed his role as an oil and gas entrepreneur, starting from humble beginnings and successfully growing Discovery Land Services. He often expressed gratitude that his accomplishments allowed him to generously support his favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
On the rare occasions he was pried away from the office or golf course, he created memories during summer vacations with family and dear friends, Johnny and Vicki Determan, boating on Lake Tenkiller. Robert was particularly proud of his Italian heritage, and enjoyed sharing colorful and embellished stories passed down to him through the generations.
Robert surpassed medical expectations after receiving a cancer diagnosis, all the while depending heavily on his Catholic faith for comfort and strength.
His parents and three of his siblings, Mary Elizabeth, Joanie and Randy, all predeceased Robert. Surviving him are his wife of 43 years, Janet, daughters Amy Hoenig Freedman (George) and Ashley Hoenig Smith (Troy), sons Patrick (Amanda) and Paul. Grandchildren Hannah, Mia, Raven, Kaleb, and Scotland lovingly called Robert "PamPa." He treasured the conversations and time spent with his older grandchildren Katy, Maddie, Gunnar, Joseph, Chase and Ryder. Surviving siblings are Kathy Smith (Buzz), Danny (Susan), Mike (Kim), Mary Whitmarsh (Jeff), and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service honoring Robert Muller's life will be Saturday, April 7th, at 1:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church, 8005 Dorset Drive, Oklahoma City. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
