Go placidly amid the noise and hasteRemember what peace there may be in silenceRobert had a lifelong love of aviation; he was not only an accomplished pilot, but in his later years, he was dedicated to aviation safety. Keeping people safe in the skies that he loved so much was second only to keeping his family safe and well provided for. He kept very little for himself and lived very modestly so that his wife and children could live comfortably. His goals and commitment in life was to always be there in every way if his family ever needed anything, and he held true to that promise. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Oscar; and his sister, Susan. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Mae Dippi; children, Rick Boivin, Kathie Gamundi-Gassman, Brien Dippi, and Tara McCalip; and his grandchildren, Ricky Gamundi, TJ Gamundi, Rebekah Gamundi, Adam Boivin, Korrie Davis, Michael Marsh, and John Heckman. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Dippi, of Hicksville, NY; his brother, Mark Dippi; and sister, Jeannie Harrison; as well as many nieces, nephews and family. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Smithand Kernke N. May Ave. Chapel.
