Robert Ryan

Robert Howell Ryan was born January 13, 1921, in Okemah, OK, the son of Simon and Gladys Ryan. He died peacefully on July 16th at home. He graduated from Okemah High School and attended OU for one year before joining the FBI. Robert met his future wife, Margaret Spranger from Sioux Falls, SD while at the FBI and they were married on February 13, 1943. He served in the South Pacific and Japan during WWII. Robert returned to South Dakota and went into the insurance business as an adjuster and later as an underwriter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years in 2007 and his daughter, Kimberly. Robert is survived by his son, Robert Ryan, M.D. and wife Pamela of OKC; grandchildren Robert Todd Ryan and wife Jill of St. Charles, MO and Sydney Ryan Laster and husband Bernard of St. Louis, MO; three great grandchildren: Zach Laster, Noah Laster, and Ian Fortier; and Opal Lents his dear companion for the past three years. Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30th at 1:30 p.m. at Edmond Mansions.
