Robert Lee Sullivan

Bobby was born on November 4, 1945 in Oklahoma City to Elijah Stover Sullivan and Leota Jackson Sullivan. He passed away on Monday, July 23, 2024. He was married to Helen MacKellar Sullivan for 54 years. He owned and ran Seawater Trucking Co and developed several properties. He and his friend and partner Mark McGee bought the vacant building on 42nd and Western which was developed to include the VZD restaurant and Mark’s Full Circle Bookstore at that time. He continued owning the property for 47 years.

Bobby graduated from the University of Oklahoma and was a proud member of Phi Gamma Delta. He was also a founding member of the Beans and Rice group, later to be called the No Beans and Rice, which were his best friends since high school (Harding) and college (OU) and continued to be till his death. He loved playing golf with the Chops at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. He was also a member of Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.

Bobby was a “girl dad” and his love of them and their friends was fun to see since he was in a family of three boys.

He was preceded in death by his brother Elijah Jackson Sullivan (Jack) and his parents. He is survived by his wife Helen and daughters Jill Holzbeierlein (Jeff) of Kansas City, Patricia Sullivan and Lee Sullivan Murphy of OKC; grandchildren, Helen, Max, Cate and Louisa Holzbeierlein, Jackson, Graham, and Harrison Murphy; brother Mark Sullivan and his wife Lela, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Bette Mackellar and many special nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Bobby’s life will be on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 4 pm at Nichols Hill United Methodist Church, 1212 Bedford Drive, Nichols Hills.
