Robert "Todd" Dye

No matter where he went, Todd Dye always had to make his mark. He gave the biggest handfuls of candy at Halloween, had the biggest Clark Griswold light display at Christmas, was known for pranking family and friends and always had a scheme to make any event, no matter how small, into an unforgettable party. Todd passed away on Jan. 12, 2019, leaving the party earlier than expected but surrounded by friends and family, the exact way he would have wanted it. Born in Oklahoma City on July 18, 1961 to Bobby Joe and Diane McCoy Dye, Todd starred at Northeast High School as the starting quarterback and a state champion runner in track in 1980. Always eager for the next thing, Todd skipped college and immediately started a more than three-decade career as a food broker, working for several companies and finishing his career with Restaurant Depot. In 1985, Todd married his first wife Tina and together they had two children, Megan and Logan, who Todd outright spoiled and tried his best to give them everything they ever wanted. Todd met Robin in 2006 on a blind date. In his own words, Todd said God sent Robin directly to him at the exact right time. They married in 2011, and lived an adventurous life together going to OU football games, traveling together and loving on their children and grandchildren. Todd is survived by his Mother Diane McCoy Dye, wife Robin Dye and her son Matt Stevens and wife Kensie and their son PJ "Prince." His daughter Megan Deavours and husband Chase and their children, all with their own Papa-approved nickname, Kinsley "Special K," Emery "Stormy," Merritt "Snacks" Deavours. His son Logan Dye and wife Leann and their daughters Adley "Boo" and Layne "Bubbles." His sister Lori Wright. Along with many other nieces, nephews, very special family members and friends that were family to him. Family will be hosting "Todd's last tailgate" at Smith & Kernke N. May Avenue, on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wear your OU gear and bring your stories! Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Smith and Kernke. Todd always loved chaos, wanted to be the center of attention but loved to dote on others. There was nothing you could surprise him with and everything was better the bigger it was. There was nobody like him and his family will miss him every day. Never a doubt.
