Ronald Eugene Vance

Ronald Eugene Vance passed away on June 23, 2024 in Oklahoma City. He was born on March 3, 1945 to Helen (Turnmire) and Huber B. Vance in Ottumwa, Iowa. Ron grew up in Albia, Iowa, graduated from Ottumwa High School and immediately pursued automotive mechanics school in Nebraska. After mechanics school, Ron enlisted in the US Air Force and served as an aircraft mechanic at Altus Air Force Base in Altus, Oklahoma. Post military service, he pursued careers as a pilot and loved flying both commercially and recreationally. Later in life, Ron pursued careers in restaurant management and truck driving. Ron always enjoyed tinkering with cars, wood working, home improvement projects and was an Iowa Hawkeye fan through and through. Ron and Connie have been residents of Oklahoma City since 1988. Ron was always known as a lighthearted and selfless spirit with a positive attitude to achieve whatever he chose to do. He was well liked by everyone and was often caught in conversation with people he did not know. Ron is survived by his wife Connie Vance; children Dana Vance, Kevin Vance and his wife Crystal and Robert Richards (Jr.); grandchildren Blaise Tilton, Connor Vance, Faith Pruch, Tristan Richards and Zachery Richards; brothers Jim and his wife Janette and Donald Vance, sister Beverly Rebarcak and numerous nieces and nephews.
