Ronald Richard Wallace, 90, of Oklahoma City, moved to his heavenly mansion July 24, 2024.
Ron was born Sept. 21, 1933, in Camden, Ark., the son of Durham Code and Dorothy Belle (Mock) Wallace, and the oldest of three siblings. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1951. He attended junior college then graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in geology.
Ron and his wife Maria loved attending Razorback football games, and loved watching football together.
Ron said he worked from the time he was eight years old, delivering milk and later running his own newspaper route. He helped pay his way through college by working at a Safeway grocery store. After college, Ron worked in the oil field and later became a longtime stockbroker in Oklahoma City. He loved to “play the market” and had many longtime clients.
Ron also was involved in the Republican Party for many years serving as Oklahoma County chairman at one time.
Ron is survived by his wife of 31 years, the love of his life, Maria (Mendez) Wallace, of the home, and his beloved dog, Babie.
He’s also survived by nieces Karen Pierce of Oklahoma City, Aleisa Rhoades of Wellston, Patricia Pemberton of Coalgate, Stacey Dean of Edmond, Stefane Green of Lexington, Julie Herbel of Enid, and Virginia Rhea of Edmond, and other family members.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and both of his siblings – James D. Wallace of Prescott, WI, and Ouida M. Dwyer Parrish of Oklahoma City as well as a nephew, Richard Dale Shewmake of Oklahoma City.
The family deeply appreciates the wonderful care of the staff of St. Anthony Hospice over the last five months of his life. The nurses, aides and volunteers were exceptional.
Ron was a Christian who loved attending church and reading his Bible. He was a devoted family man, taking great care of all he loved. Always outgoing, he had many friends and acquaintances. He was an excellent businessman. He loved the United States of America, holding fast to conservative values.
He will be greatly missed.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2024, at Westside Christian Church, 10145 Northwest Expressway, Yukon. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 North Kelley Ave., OKC.
