Ruthe Burgoyne, "Ruthe B." Moore of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away at home just days after celebrating her 89th birthday. Ruthe had only been retired seven years from a long and successful career as Executive Secretary to the former Vice President of The Hertz Corporation where many of her co-workers became like family. Ruthe also worked several years as a Secretary at the Catholic Chancery during the tenures of both Archbishop Quinn and Salatka. She had a dear love for and enjoyed holidays with the Carmelite Sisters of St. Therese. Ruthe had an unquenchable passion for excellence, be it her work ethic, her love of the culinary arts or for each and every one of her very diverse group of friends. Born in Clinton, MA to Fredrick A. and Ann M. Burgoyne, Ruthe was the youngest of nine children. She was the last surviving of her brothers; Francis, Ralph, Maurice, George and John and sisters Mary, Alice and Kathryn. Ruthe's husband, Winthrop H. Moore preceded her in death in 1984. Ruthe is survived by her three children; Jo A. Heckman of Kansas City, Mo., her loving partner, Bruce Campbell, Frederic E. Moore and Elizabeth J. Moore, her loving partner Elizabeth Caplan all of Oklahoma City. Also survived are her two grandchildren; Zachary W. Heckman of Overland Park, KS, his wife Robyn and Joshua S. Moore of Houston, TX and his wife Anji and their children Tatum and Zachary Heckman and Nathan Moore. Ruthe has more than forty nieces and nephews living in Massachusetts and throughout New England. She will be remembered as an enchanting raconteur, for her unceasing wit, her love of the odd, the unique and for being her children's perpetual "tour de force". An evening prayer service will be held 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12th at Christ the King Catholic Church with interment at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to either Free to Live Animal Sanctuary or Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.
