Sally A. Blood

She was born on September 22, 1938 in Canton, Oklahoma to Orval & Delores Smith. Sally grew up with her family of three sisters (Judy, Jere, and Emmadee) on a farm in the Canton/Eagle City area. She was educated in Eagle City and Canton public schools. As an adult, Sally attended some college related to travel, business and creative writing. After Sally graduated high school she married Harold I. Blood of Canton. Sally and Harold then moved to Stillwater, OK where they both worked as Harold attended OSU. Sally and Harold raised two children; a daughter, Dee Ann born Dec. 1, 1957 and a son, Guy Robert born April 2, 1960. Sally tirelessly raised her children as she worked fulltime. Sally was a trailblazer for working women today, diligently fulfilling career demands while meeting her family's needs. Sally and Harold relocated as Harold's work dictated. The couple lived in Oklahoma City, Denver, CO, Joplin, MO, Ft. Worth, TX, Memphis, TN, Manchester, UK and various other cities. Sally and Harold retired to Edmond in 2005. Sally worked in a variety of businesses and devoted many years to the banking industry. Sally helped banking customers as a personal banker/loan officer and was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Loans. Sally enjoyed many business affiliations related to her work such as American Business Women's Association and local Chambers of Commerce. Sally had many pastimes including water skiing, which she and Harold along with their family and friends enjoyed for many years. Sally also enjoyed group travel and worked to promote senior travel groups with her various banking and community affiliations. During her many travel excursions; Sally developed her passion for theatrical performances and cultural events. Sally was an avid card and bunko player and attending many of her community bridge and bunko nights. Sally met many people during her lifetime; many of the people she met over the years became her cherished friends. Sally was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harold I. Blood; a daughter, Dee Ann Campbell (Todd) of Lombard, IL; a son, Guy Robert Blood (Diana) of Keller, TX; grandchildren, Alexis Smith (Matt) of Denver, CO; Meredith Schaefer of Lombard, IL; Briana O'Neal (Zach) of Ft. Worth, TX; Ryan Uran, Steven Blood and Nicholas Blood of Keller, TX; three great-grandchildren, Colt, Harper and baby O'Neal of Ft. Worth, TX; three sisters, Judy Powell of Edmond; Jere Walker (John) of Shreveport, LA; Emmadee Duncan (John) of Enid; and many other family members and friends across the country.
