Sally Holman

Sarah “Sally” Holman was born July 31, 1937, in Kansas City, MO, and died on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was the daughter of Walter and Louise Sanders. After her family moved from Kansas City to Oklahoma City, Sally attended John Carroll Catholic Grade School and then graduated in 1955 from Catholic High, later known as Bishop McGuinness High School. Sally was married in 1960 to Dan W. Holman. They were married for 58 years before his death in 2018. Sally and Dan were among the founding parishioners of St. Eugene’s Catholic Church. Their 5 daughters attended St. Eugene’s Catholic Grade School as well as Bishop McGuinness High School. A full-time mom for many years, Sally also worked as an Administrative Assistant retiring in 2001 from OG&E/Enogex. In retirement, Sally enjoyed time with family and friends, gardening, volunteering at the church office, attending book club, and regular luncheons with her many close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Dan, her sister Cynthia King, and her grandson, Michael McDermitt. She is survived by her brother Tom “Tommy” (and Kathy) Sanders, her daughters: Theresa Holman, Mary Kay (and Dennis) Phillips, Margaret (and Brad) Reynolds, Susie (and Mark) Murray, and Amy (and Dennis) Holman-Coon, as well as 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren: Matthew Holman, Christopher McDermitt, Joey Bowen, Brian Vann, Thomas Vann, Kevin Vann, Kathryn Vann, James Reynolds, Samantha Reynolds, Sarah Reynolds Hood, Sean Murray, Grace Murray, Allison Holman, Emma Holman, Jude McDermitt, and Laylah Gorline. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Eugene Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 11th, 2025, at 10:00am. at St. Eugene’s, 2400 W. Hefner Rd, The Village, OK 73120. Sally will be laid to rest beside her husband at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City.
