Samantha Blaschke Chism, 30, of Oklahoma City, passed away unexpectedly August 31st after a brief illness. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Chism. Samantha's infectious laugh, sparkling wit and razor sharp intelligence will be sadly missed by her parents Dr. Jon W and Shirley Blaschke, and her paternal grandparents, Dr John A and Ruth Blaschke. In addition, Samantha's brother and sister in law Dr. Jon P and Lissa Blaschke, with their children Sophia and Nils will miss her dearly. Others whose lives are no longer the same are aunts and uncles Sharon Polk, Frank and Lou Ann Polk, Dan and Lynn Blaschke, Mike and Georgene Blaschke, Kristen Blaschke, and Bill and Karan Blaschke. Joining the family in grief are loving are beloved cousins Jay Blaschke, Emily Blaschke and Matt Link, Michelle and Tom Manning, Alex and Ashley Wisdom, Erica and Derek Zolner and Andrew Blaschke, Alexandra and Danielle Polk. Special mention must be made for Mike's family who are doing so much not only for him but for us all as we try to comprehend what has happened: Mike's mother Judy Chism, his sister and brother in law, Cheryl and Jon Gruntmeir with their children Camber, Carly, Corbin, Cassidy and George, and Mike's aunt and uncle, Cynthia and Buddy Odom. Samantha was preceded by her maternal grandparents, Frank and Shirley Polk, uncle Dr. Douglas Polk and uncle Neil Blaschke. We would be remiss if we did not remember Samantha's beloved canine Addy, who is showing signs of being a little lost and confused without the one who, in the best way, was her "Mistress." Further, Samantha dedicated the last few years of her life to helping the unfortunate through the University of Oklahoma DIAL unit for DHS. We will remember the life of this kind young woman at 2:00 PM Saturday at Crown Heights Christian Church, 4020 N. Western, Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, the family would request memorials be sent to Pets and People, 701 Inla Avenue, Yukon, OK. Samantha's friends and family are certain Shakespeare will not mind: "Good night, Sweet Princess. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
