Sam Williams died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at his home in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 71.He was born August 4, 1947 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to his parents, Luther Willie Williams and Cordelia Frost Williams. He was raised and attended school in Daughtery, Oklahoma. He enlisted and served his country in the Army for 3 years. Upon his honorable discharge he attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and graduated with a B.A. in Business.During his working career, Sam worked in the food and beverage industry specializing in sales and marketing. He was associated with Coca-Cola and finally with Indian Wholesale Food upon his retirement.Sam was an avid collector of silver, antiques and accessories. No sale was ever too small or too large to attend and he always managed to find a wonderful hidden treasure for usually a ridiculously low price that caused everyone to groan when they heard the amount. Sam was in attendance at the Antiques Road Show visit to Oklahoma City in 2011 and was selected for an on-screen interview and evaluation for the several pieces of Lalique crystal that he had chosen to bring.Sam was a devoted son, brother and uncle to all of his family; always being the one to depend on for any reason. His friendship was a gift to many people, his compassion, love and loyalty were given unconditionally, never expecting anything in return. Very seldom was he seen without that infectious smile which will be greatly missed.Sam was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ruby Pinkston, Mary Jenson, Edith Stowel, George Newby, Junior Williams, Susie Loehman, Jerry Williams, Ona Edwards, and Nona Lorance.He is survived by Dr. Jim Lowery of Edmond, his sister Della Gates and husband Jerry of Rockingham, North Carolina,brother Don Tyson and many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
