Sandra was born to Edwin and Mildred Kessler. She graduated from Classen High School and attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. In 1954 she married Don Bobzien who at the time was serving in the Army. In later years, after raising her children, she resumed and completed her education by graduating from The University of Central Oklahoma. Sandra was a loved and loving mother to her three children, Bradford Scott, Bruce Edwin, and Suzanna Beth. While raising these children she accepted and accomplished the challenge of being a spectacular wife to her husband Don. Sandra was fiercely proud of her granddaughters, Kara and Kaylen of Bristow, Oklahoma, and Bailey and Sophie of Groton, Massachusetts. Sandra served on the Boards of many community organizations. She has served as Executive Director of the Oklahoma Zoological Society, Oklahoma City Beautiful and The Oklahoma Theatre Association. Her love of theatre led her to serve on the Lyric Theatre Board and appeared in several Lyric productions, highlighted by her memorable role as 'Big Mama' in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. Her recent board involvement was as an active consultant, board member and trustee of the Executive Service Corps of Central Oklahoma. She recently joined the Advisory Board of the Liberal Arts School of The University of Central Oklahoma. Over the years she proved to be an accomplished and appreciated leader. Sandra was a long time member of the Session of Westminster Presbyterian Church and enjoyed several years of teaching in the Church's SPARK program. She was an enthusiastic golfer at Quail Creek Golf & Country Club, where in 1973 she and Don were Husband & Wife Tennis Champions. Sandra will be sorely missed by a huge number of her friends and associates. Her love and devotion will forever be remembered by her children and grandchildren. Her husband will forever embrace the incredible memories of the beauty and class of his 'smokin' hot wife!' The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4400 N. Shartel Ave., Oklahoma City. Contributions in Sandra's memory may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Central OK Humane Society.
