Sandra Kaye Cowden

Sandy Cowden – wife, mom, gammy, crazy aunt & superhero died on January 20, 2024.  She leaves behind the greatest parts of her life: her husband of 56 years, Dan; son, Tim, his wife Valarie and three children Riley, Johnny, and Michael; son, Chris; and daughter Katy Miskovsky, her husband Travis and three children, Madison, Emory, and Jake. Beyond her immediate family, she will be missed by droves of family & friends that came to love and adore her infectious smile and absolute love for life.

Born in Oklahoma City in 1944 to Fred and Eva Calhoun, Sandy grew up in a busy and loving home. She graduated from Harding High School in 1962.  While at Harding, she met Dan Cowden and would later marry him on January 20, 1968.  They made their home in Oklahoma City where they raised their family and fostered thousands of friendships that shall live on. While being a mom was her greatest profession, she also worked for the Xerox corporation, Oklahoma Bar Association, and Oklahoma State House of Representatives.
