Sandra "Sandy" Smith, née Jordan, a loving wife, mother, and friend, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Sandy was born on September 14, 1949, in Edmond, Oklahoma to Vera and Floyd Jordan. She was a graduate of Edmond High School and lived in Edmond for most of her life. She married Jack Smith, known as Jackie, on December 8, 1967; they were blessed almost thirteen years later with the birth of their only child, Ashley. Sandy was loving, generous, caring, vivacious, and beautiful. She was a lover of flowers, decorating, sunshine, animals, good food, and travel. Sandy was a member of Edmond First Church of the Nazarene and was looking forward to the upcoming centennial at Waterloo Church of the Nazarene Centennial, where she grew up and her parents were longtime members. Sandy endured much during her eighteen month battle with kidney disease, although the last several months were better and she was looking forward to the spring and summer. Her absence leaves a gaping hole in the hearts of all who loved her.Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother-in-law Jim Spruill, nephew Harvey Derrick, father-in-law Robert Smith, mother-in-law Connie Smith, and stepfather-in-law Bill Smith. She is survived by her daughter Ashley, of Oklahoma City, sister Ethel Mae Spruill of Edmond, niece Brenda Winker of Kenwood, California, grandnephew Josh Himes of Divide, Colorado, grandnephew Jason Winkler and his wife Emilia D'Anzica (Tyler, Ava, and Elle) of Santa Rosa, California, niece Sharon Derrick of Edmond, grandnephew Devin Derrick of Edmond, grandnephew Caleb Derrick and his wife Kari of Texas (Kylie, Brookelynn, and Remington), and grandniece Angel Ralls (Andi) of Yukon.Following a private family burial at Memorial Park Cemetery a Celebration of Life will be held at the chapel of Smith & Kernke Funeral Home at 2pm on Saturday, April 15.
