Sandra Louise Ferguson

Sandra Louise (Cales) Ferguson, born July 25, 1934 in Pauls Valley, OK., passed away on November 14, 2018 in Shawnee, OK. The daughter of C.H. "Pete" and Towana Cales, "Sandy Lou" excelled in music, English, athletics, dance and home economics, using her seamstress skills to fashion clothes for herself and prom dresses for friends. An early first marriage brought her the gift of her first child, Michael Leo, whom she supported as a working single mom ahead of her time. She married the love of her life, William Clay Ferguson, on May 16, 1960, and was blessed with three more children: William Clay, Jr. (May 24, 1961), David Henry (December 28, 1962) and Janet Lynn (April 13, 1964). A tireless and supportive wife and mother, in her own time, Sandra continued to enjoy sewing, homemaking and above all, travel—her favorite vacation spots were Las Vegas, NV and Coronado, CA. She loved dining out, dancing, O.U. football games and doing just about anything with her family (except fireworks). She also devoted time (and love) at local Mother's Day Out programs, and shared activities with her fellow A.S.H.R.A.E. wives. A lifelong movie buff, Sandra worshiped Paul Newman and Robert Redford… from afar. She is preceded in death by her husband, William, and son, William Clay, Jr., her parents and siblings Samuel Cales and Rowena (Cales) Randle. She is survived by sons Michael and David, and daughter Janet; granddaughters Erin Kim and Adrien Kerksick, and their mother, Lesa, along with Erin's children Avery and Declan, and Adrien's spouse Chad and children Camden and Emery. She is also survived by sister Marilyn (Cales) Smothers.
