Sandra Rochelle Reynolds

Sandra Reynolds passed away around midnight the morning of December 28th, after courageously battling a long illness. She was born at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky on April 6th, 1944. At that time her father, then Lieutenant Hugh Reynolds, US Army, was serving his country on the battlefields of Europe while her mother Eloise Dooley Reynolds 'kept the home fires burning.' 'Sandy' had three distinct careers: in finance as a budget officer for the US Air Force (where she achieved the rank of Captain) and financial analyst at the Federal Reserve Board; guidance counselor at the J.D. McCarty Center; and finally her lifelong love of books led her to be children's librarian at the Nicholson Library of Garland, TX. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, aunts Irene and Sarah Dooley (Aplin, AR) and Elizabeth Dooley Peterson, (Cave City, KY) and sister Elinor Young. She is survived by her cousins Don Dooley and Beverly Doremus, (Aplin, AR) her aunt Martha Barnhouse (Sebring, OH) nephew James Gilstrap and great-nephew Alan Gilstrap, (Norman) niece Nancy Tue and great-nephew Chandler Tue (Clarksville, TN) and sisters Martha Ann Anderson (Slaughterville) and Mary Catherine Reynolds (Oklahoma City). A simple graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Saturday, January 5th at 11:00 am. 'The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God… they are at peace.'
