Sharon Elaine ""Fluff"" Feland

Our beloved Sharon Elaine Feland, affectionately known as "Fluff" peacefully passed away on April 24, 2022 at Heritage Point Memory Care at the age of 79. She left this earth with daughter Tamara holding her hand and her son Scott lovingly by her side. Anyone who was privileged to know Fluff knew of her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren, Tatum A. Feland and spouse Diego Perez, Clay A. Feland, Cole R. Feland, Emma E. Feland and great granddaughter Myah Perez-Feland. She was born on December 23rd, 1942 in Wichita, KS to parents Lee and Vella Emma Pickard. Her death on April 24th ended an eight-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.Fluff married her Capital Hill Highschool sweetheart Russell M. Feland in 1961. Their love affair was truly one for the ages. They set a great example of love in the family they created with Tamara and Scott. Lessons of honoring your partner and the value of a loving family were taught. In addition to raising her family, Fluff pursued lofty career goals. She was a hard worker, resilient figure in the face of adversity and a person who provided exemplary effort. Always a determined woman, she knew a cornerstone to furthering her career was education. She earned an Associate's Degree in Business Management by attending night classes at Oklahoma City Community College. She utilized her degree to steadily rise in responsibility to the position of Director of Human Resources for FAA Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. In addition to her efforts in the business field, Fluff had many personal interests. She loved scrapbooking her grandchildren's lives. In fact, she created a legacy to each grandchild by expertly crafting a book detailing their life in pictures from birth and beyond. Quilting was an exquisite talent Fluff possessed. She created many different quilts for her children, grandchildren and special caregivers. Sewed many, many hours on quilts for premature babies and donated to various hospitals. Many hours of fun and special memories were made going to quilting shows with cousin Harriett Howard, friend Jackie Bebe and many others. Fluff was always a gracious hostess and enjoyed preparing holiday dinners for our family and anyone who needed a place to go was always welcome. Christmas time was her absolute favorite time of the year! Our family has many Christmas time birthdays including Fluff's so it was always a big part of our life to celebrate all things Christmas. Faith was the foundation Fluff built her life upon. One of her favorite Bible verses was Phil. 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". She drew upon her faith to see her through many adversities.Fluff had an unassuming and disarming smile that could put anyone at ease: from newborns to the elderly, everyone was Fluff's friend. Her sense of humor was second to none and she was as compassionate as she was funny. Even when ill, Fluff was never angry, sad, or depressed – she could find the silver lining to keep pushing forward in any situation. Fluff was so special. She represented the good that we all need every day in our lives. She was one of a select few who could actually rise to meet challenges with a smile. We are proud to call Fluff our mother. Her spirit will live on as in the words of the Alabama song, "I believe there are angels among us, sent down to us from somewhere up above, they come to you and me in our darkest hours to show us how to live, to teach us how to give, to guide us with the light of love". Fluff was preceded in death by her husband Russell Feland and beloved sister Sandra Parks. She is survived by her Daughter Tamara Feland, son Scott Feland and daughter-in-law Karen, niece Nicole Parks, her cousins and countless friends and lives Fluff has touched throughout her life. The family sincerely appreciates the care provided by TouchMark, Heritage Point Memory Care, Good Shepard Hospice and longtime caregiver Zashaire Morrow.
